IFC Business Edge

International Finance Corporation (IFC) launched their prestigious Business Edge (BE) program dedicated for the development of Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) sector in partnership with Women in Management (Pvt) Ltd. On July 2014.

The IFC Business Edge training aims to improve the business performance and competitiveness of firms and to create jobs. This is achieved by improving the EDGE providing them access to practical training solutions adapted to the local business context. Thirty-eight (38) training courses are available covering five (5) broad categories of marketing, human resource management, finance and accounting, general operations management and personal productivity skills. These training programs will help to empower the entrepreneurs of SMEs and middle managers of larger enterprise in making sound business decisions and carrying on a successful enterprise. IFC has implemented a new strategy to deliver assistance to SMEs globally by designing and developing the Business Edge program.

The IFC is a member of the World Bank and is an international organization whose mission is to promote sustainable private sector investment in developing countries. IFC has selected Women in Management as its authorized representative for Business Edge program and has been granted the sole rights of conducting these programs in Sri Lanka.

In partnership with IFC, WIM is in the process of linking with the Finance, Banking and other business and training sectors to host the Business Edge training programs among the SMEs. Global experiences have shown that this training has become a value addition to their SME clientele thus ensuring greater success for their business development. WIM has 12 certified trainers to deliver this program in a customized manner in all three languages across Sri Lanka.
